TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme – Sub-Saharan Africa 2026 (Funded)

The TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme – Sub-Saharan Africa 2026 is now open for applications. This funded programme supports scientific exchange visits between researchers based in Sub-Saharan Africa and counterparts in Germany. The initiative encourages collaboration, knowledge sharing, and joint research activities in a wide range of scientific disciplines.

Selected researchers will receive financial support to carry out short-term research visits to German research institutions, working closely with German host partners to strengthen research networks, enhance skills, and accelerate scientific innovation. The programme is jointly supported by The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and the German Research Foundation (DFG).

Applicants should be early- to mid-career researchers with a strong academic background and a clear collaborative project plan with a German host institution. The visit should be designed to foster sustainable research partnerships and long-term cooperation.

This opportunity promotes professional development, capacity building, and international research integration for scientists working in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Interested candidates are encouraged to prepare their application materials and project descriptions ahead of the deadline.
